Join your community in a scheduled group ride led by the San Diego County Bike Coalition through different routes through the City scheduled every hour of the event on the half hour.See below for schedule and route maps.Rides will all start at the Vista Memorial Flagpole downtown on S. Citrus Avenue. You can join by signing up at the event, or if you are interested in a specific ride, click here to pre-register.

Schedule

9:30 am: Downtown/Kids Ride
Cruise the Downtown Streets to the Wave Waterpark and Back in this quick 1.7-mile no-hills ride.

10:30 am: Brengle Terrace Park Ride
Ride to Brengle Terrace Park via the Wivvay Trail, seeing our new Wivvay Park, the Alta Vista Botanical Gardens, Senior Center, and Vista County Library on your route!  This ride is 4.5 miles and includes a moderate hill at the park. 

11:30 am: Bike Safety Infrastructure Ride
Ride within the protected bikes lanes, learn how to ride in a round about and gain confidence as a cyclist in sharing the road with other vehicles. This is a 3.2-mile ride with little to no hills.

12:30 pm: Downtown Ride/Kids Ride/Bike Party
One last chance to cruise the Downtown Streets as a group/bike party to the Wave Waterpark and back on a 1.7 mile ride with little to no hills. 

In partnership with the San Diego County Bike Coalition, we have set up a multi-tiered open to all ages bike rodeo! Improve your bike safety riding skills, bike through an obstacle course, and learn how to better control your bike while riding.

Led by certified instructors from the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, feel confident in learning how to bike on the roads and safely navigate as a cycler.

Explore the many vendors and downtown businesses that will be celebrating and sharing information on bike safety, local bike/cycling clubs, public health, and sustainability! Be one of the first 200 attendees to complete the event scavenger hunt/quiz and receive a $10 gift card for a downtown business! Come by the City booth to start the scavenger hunt/quiz; one gift card per person who completes the scavenger hunt.Here are some of our amazing vendors/educators:

Inland Rail Trail (~2 miles | biking: 10 min | walking: 40 min)

The Inland Rail Trail is a 21-mile trail that spans across Oceanside, Vista, Escondido, and San Marcos. To get to Cyclovia, hop off the Inland Rail Trail at Phillips Street and Mar Vista Drive. Take a right onto Mar Vista Drive and cross the train tracks. Proceed straight and then make a left onto S. Santa Fe Avenue and continue straight. Ride through the roundabouts and make a right on East Broadway to arrive at Cyclovia at the end of the street.

Vista Transit Station (0.3 miles | biking: 3 min | walking: 8 min)

Take the Sprinter to the Vista Transit Center. From there, walk, bike, or scooter across Vista Village Drive and turn left towards North Santa Fe Avenue. Use the bike lanes on North Santa Fe Avenue and turn right on South Citrus Avenue. If you would rather ride through the Vista Village, turn right on North Santa Fe Avenue and make a left on East Broadway.

Civic Center Transit Station (~1.4 miles | biking: 8 min | walking: 24 min)

You can also make a stop at the Civic Center – Vista Sprinter station. From that station, turn right onto Civic Center Drive and proceed towards Natal Way. Continue on Civic Center Dr and take a left on Eucalyptus Ave behind Vista Magnet Middle School. Then take a right turn onto N Citrus Ave. For an alternative route, continue on Civic Center Drive and turn left onto South Santa Fe Avenue. From there, continue straight past the roundabouts, then take a right on E Broadway.

All parking lots are available for use except the larger parking lot adjacent to the Yellow Deli on East Broadway and South Citrus Avenue. The Belching Beaver and the McCarthy parking lots will be open with limited entry and exit driveways. Refer to the event map for details on all available parking lots.

Seeing e-bikes around town? Rising in popularity, these electric bicycles function like a normal bike with an additional power boost. These bikes enable individuals of various abilities to cycle longer distances or increase their speed with the assistance of an electric motor. Multiple styles of e-bikes, including commuter, cargo, and cruiser models, make them versatile and enjoyable for various occasions, and they also serve as a great alternative to driving in Vista.

The City of Vista has recently added more protection on some of the bike lanes, including new green striping and white striped bike berms. View a detailed map of the different bike lanes throughout Vista and San Diego.

Interested in learning more about e-bikes and cycling safety? The City of Vista hosts an E-Bike Safety Training and Rebate Program. Through this program, individuals can sign up to participate in an e-bike city cycling safety course, which includes a hands-on safety component and a community ride. City of Vista residents who take the training course are eligible to apply for a rebate up to $450 on an e-bike purchase. For more information on the program, visit our webpage.

Having a properly fitting helmet is key to riding safely. Not only are they required by law for those under 18, but they also act as an added safety layer while riding. Wearing a helmet while riding can significantly reduce the severity of a brain injury and potentially save your life.
