Caltrans will fully close sections of State Route 78 near Mar Vista Drive in Vista from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, August 11, through Thursday, August 14, for bridge demolition work.

Detours:

• Westbound SR-78 (Aug. 11–12): Closed between Sycamore Avenue and Vista Village Drive. Detour: exit Sycamore Ave → left on Sycamore → right on S. Melrose Dr → right on Hacienda Dr → left on Vista Village Dr → re-enter westbound SR-78.

• Eastbound SR-78 (Aug. 13–14): Closed between Civic Center Drive and Sycamore Avenue. Detour: exit Civic Center Dr → left on Civic Center → right on Santa Fe Ave → right on Robelin Dr → left onto eastbound SR-78. Some drivers may be directed from Mar Vista Dr to the eastbound onramp by a flagger.

Mar Vista Drive:

• Eastbound: right on Thibodo Rd → left on Sycamore Ave → westbound SR-78 onramp.

• Westbound: straight on Mar Vista Dr → right on S. Santa Fe Ave → right on Robelin Dr → Sycamore Ave → right on Thibodo Rd → left on Mar Vista Dr.

Night work will include noise, lighting, and backup alarms. Schedule may change due to weather, traffic, or other factors.
